With November comes the Birthday Celebrations

Image
With Marty kicking off the month of November celebrations. Here comes TiPhil and Flo’s celebrations. A packed house in suburbia, a DJ (thanks Paulo), tons of friends, many I have not seen in sometime. All with tones of Love... L O V E

Marty...the first to 30

Image
We all get there eventually. But, 30 years of age is that milestone that let’s you know you’ve made a good long trek. Lucky for Marty, and us, we have a solid group of friends that allow us to be who we are. And I mean truly who we are. So as the first to 30. We had to get down to the funky sound and celebrate this milestone. All fun was consensual (Seb your responsible for this one)...

Cécile Doo-Kingué Freedom Calling Shoot

Image
Cécile Doo-Kingué, the best guitarist I’ve ever met. That means a lot, because I know a fair bit of musicians, mostly guitarist at that. So you can imagine how excited I was when I got a call from CC to shot the images for her upcoming LP Freedom Calling. Only one little problem she says. I need help finding a location. She told she wanted an old train station, but also had an idea with mirrors and did not know how to blend the two. In comes Jamie Janx. Location for an old train station did not take me long to find. But, what to do with the mirrors. It be cool if I could use them to reflect some of the surrounding or even CC herself. After a little work and some new equipment the results speak for themselves.

FloorRider & GenTonik Danse shoot

Image
Emily Honneger (FloorRider) and Geneviève Gagné (GenTonik) are 2 amazing dancers. So when I got a call to help them with some photos for a press kit. I was all over it. These ladies worked so hard and it shows in the images. Holding poses longer then one would be able. But, to these athletic and talented ladies, it’s second nature. The location was a freshly painted graffiti spot in Montréal. Saturated popping colours made a perfect backdrop for this shoot.

Makendi, Tricia Foster, Olivier Fairfield Shoot

Image
I’ve gotten my fair share of last minute calls for a photo shoot. But, this time, less then 24hrs. Now that’s short notice. I love challenges and this is a perfect time to try out some new gear. So here we go again. The call came from Tricia, calling for photo to be used for a press kit. This project she’s part of also present 2 others I’ve never worked with Makendi, who I’ve never met, and Olivier a long time friend from High School. It was for some kind of song writers exposé. The artistic director asked me to include books in odd settings, but that was it. So time for Jamie’s imagination to run wild.

Pyromania...One Krazy night in Alexandria

Image
A new yearly tradition is born. All in the name of everybody’s love for fire works. Lots of friends, lots of fireworks in a beautiful outdoor setting... I think I’m in Love. The celebration were amazing, surrounded by old friends. I made some new ones as well. Extra points for the most unique pool, and a DJ booth in a tree...Now that’s something to write home about.

I'm on a Dock

Image
I’m sure by now most people have seen the Saturday Night Live skit, I’m on a boat, featuring T Pain (Mr. AutoTune). Seriously one of funniest skits SNL has had in the last several years. Well this inspired the crew to pull off a Canadian parody; I’m on a Dock. Redone lyrics by Dom, with the help of Flex and Yaghi. Special guest Marty Fox in the roll of Mom... Tessa filming and me shoot stills. Many friends working together all in the name of comedy. Check it out on YouTube. As I’m still laughing typing this post.
