I’m sure by now most people have seen the Saturday Night Live skit, I’m on a boat, featuring T Pain (Mr. AutoTune). Seriously one of funniest skits SNL has had in the last several years. Well this inspired the crew to pull off a Canadian parody; I’m on a Dock. Redone lyrics by Dom, with the help of Flex and Yaghi. Special guest Marty Fox in the roll of Mom... Tessa filming and me shoot stills. Many friends working together all in the name of comedy. Check it out on YouTube. As I’m still laughing typing this post.

With the last shoot for Cindy edited, I had a perfect excuse to trek out to Montréal and deliver her photos and take in the Butterflies @ Le Jardin Botanique. Cindy joined in for the visit and like everybody that comes along to this experience. It leaves them with a feeling like no other.

As you know, I’m a luck man to be surrounded by many marvellous women musicians. Sometime you get a chance to meet new ones. Well this is the case. Cindy had heard of me. I’d heard of her... Anyhoo, it was about time we worked together. She was super impressed with the last shoot I did with Tricia Foster. She’s working on a New LP, and felt my photographic style would compliment things.

On the 19th of March 2009 Tricia Foster’s Album Commerciale won 3 awards including Best Album Cover (Meilleur Pochette). The other 2 awards: ( Réalisateur et arrangeur de disque ; Shawn Sasyniuk et Tricia Foster « Commerciale » Tricia Foster & Auteur, compositeur ou auteur-compositeur par excellence Tricia Foster) .  I’m so proud of Tricia. It’s marvellous that all her hard work is paying off. Congrats bella!

So, I expect a phone call to help with photos for a new album or press kit. But, this time a different kinda request. Tricia called me and said... No one recognizes me on my photos. Not something I hear. Tricia: No No, it’s not your photos... I cut all my hair off! Tricia has had long hair down to her bum since I’ve know her (about 10 years now). So new shots are needed. She owns her new look with confidence and beauty.

Norml Clothing in Ottawa is hosting an interesting artistic challenge, supported by Red Bull. This visual art challenge, ask that with the use of a 12” vinyl, create the most original artistic piece possible. Any craft is accepted. Only the top 40 will be selected. Here’s the piece I created. Yes, I was one of the 40 chosen, using a mix of painting and photography. Norml clothing has been a strong supporter of my craft for many years. Nice to be part of the new location’s gallery space. Funny how I’m the only one that used a white frame.

Here I am back in Haliburton. Everybody has that one place that makes them feel like a kid again. Well for me it’s the Haliburton Highlands. Hanging out with the family. A fun change to have the grandparents down from Winnipeg for this year’s Thanksgiving celebrations. Stuck around an extra day just to take it all in. Timed the colours perfectly this year! Fall colours in Haliburton...WOW!
