Jardin Botanique 2011





The yearly destination of visiting the butterflies roaming free at the Jardin Botanique de Montréal always gets me very excited. As always I bring someone along for the fun. This year Tara and my parents got a chance to see these little creatures up and close. Amazing how so many of these creatures fly all around without making a sound.

Themed on suicide prevention this mural is produced with the help of « les Courag_eux » a group of men aged 25 and up who participated in a prevention workshop . This workshop is the ground work for the values used to build the imagery of this Mural. The Blue Jay symbolises communication, confidence & resilience. The hand is filled with the topics and values exchanged in our workshop. The sun is for getting to the next sunrise, the next day. Include in this mural is a library of suicide prevention references framed above the blue jay. Let’s take out the taboo & Let’s Talk

Red Bull Wax Museum @ Norml Clothing

Norml Clothing in Ottawa is hosting an interesting artistic challenge, supported by Red Bull. This visual art challenge, ask that with the use of a 12” vinyl, create the most original artistic piece possible. Any craft is accepted. Only the top 40 will be selected. Here’s the piece I created. Yes, I was one of the 40 chosen, using a mix of painting and photography. Norml clothing has been a strong supporter of my craft for many years. Nice to be part of the new location’s gallery space. Funny how I’m the only one that used a white frame.
